Are you a long time resident of Foster City? Do you have any anecdotes about your early years in Foster City that you would like to share? Are you a member of any city based civic organizations? If so, we invite you to come join us as a member.
Member Benefits
There are many reasons to become a member. As a member of the Foster City Historical Society, you can:
- Get to know your civic leaders on a personal level. Historical society members voice their opinions on various aspects concerning life in the community or historic preservation, and often have a close relationship with the city leaders.
- Become an active participant in community activities. Each year, the historical society participates in city and county sponsored events, such as the Art and Wine Festival, 4th of July celebration and San Mateo County’s “History Days.” In addition, members often attend civic and business functions hosted by other community groups, such as the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary and Lions Clubs.
- Gain leadership experience and network with community members. Members can choose to hold an office on the board of directors or to simply help out with organization committees. Public speaking opportunities are available.
Joining the Historical Society
Membership is for a calendar year, from January to January, with renewal taking place at the first meeting of the year. General meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the William Walker Recreation Center. Members may be contacted to help out at public events, especially the Art and Wine festival.
There are three levels of Membership. Please note that membership is different from sponsorship; sponsors do not necessarily have to join as members, but may receive honorary membership. If you are interested in sponsorship, click here for more information.
Youth (under 18)/Senior (65+) $15.00
Individual Member $20.00

The Foster City Historical Society has pending 501(c) status. Currently membership dues and fees are not tax deductible.
